episodes featuring Sharon Gless and Tyne Daly as the Dynamic Duo from Amazon in the USA and Canada and other retail outlets, but for those who want it all…. The original movie
with Loretta Swit and Tyne Daly, the six episodes where Tyne Daly partnered
with Meg Foster as Cagney, the aforementioned 119 with Tyne and Sharon, as well
as the four reunion movies, known collectively as The Menopause Years, they are about to be available and ready for
your purchase via this website or directly through the distributor only. All the information on how to purchase will
be on www.cagneyandlacey.com this week. It is truly a limited first come/first served
proposition so do let us have your orders right away.
There are some extras. First time ever
or anywhere audio version of my book (Cagney & Lacey…. and Me) narrated by the author, a featurette made by MGM some
five years ago and previously seen by those of you who bought their limited DVD
release of “True Beginnings,” the British Film Institute tribute taped last
November in London, a personally autographed photo of Tyne and Sharon signed by
each of them, as well as archival interviews with Tyne, Sharon, series creator
Barbara Corday as well as yours truly. There is also a booklet authored by me
and it all comes in a very handsome box at less than half what many of you said
you would pay for such a bonanza..for the price of
$139.00 plus shipping. That is the good news. The bad? Well, it is
only in the US system and postage out of the country is not included. We went
on and on about this over here as long as we could and could not win this fight
for our UK fans. I can only remind you of what you all said you might pay and
ask that you take the savings from that and invest in a converter that will
allow you to play this collection on your home systems. You’ll still have money
left over for postage. I have to say to you there is no telling when… if ever…
MGM will ever allow this to be done again for other markets outside the US and
Canada.
The DVD era is all but over. This Limited
Edition is for all of us who want this collection on our shelves… for
those folks who remember this show as part of their own personal history. I am
proud to present it to you all… as proud as I am of the original work itself. I
wish we could reproduce this in the hundreds of thousands, but we cannot. It is
truly a limited first come/first served proposition so do let us have your

I'm really excited for this set. I recall doing a vote years back asking what I would rather buy all the seasons with Swit, and Foster etc ... I forgot what site did that poll. Anyhow I bought the First Season that was released on DVD and it was a BLIND BUY! I loved the show in an instant. The police station looked awesome and the characters developed. The episode where Tyne goes to the beach when life was really getting to her and all of her inner feelings conveyed in her performance. It had an effect on me, and I'm a guy! Always hated how when the show was mentioned it seemed like women's lib and I felt that was so unfair. Great show great characters and I'm on pins and needles this Limited Set is going to be mine. (Please don't let me miss this set)

So glad it's finally here.
Folks in the UK should have no problem playing the discs as most UK dvd players are multi-region (or can be made so after two minutes searching for a multi-region code on Google).
The sting in the tail will be the 20% import VAT (about £17 on top of the £87 base price) plus the same percentage on top of the postage, plus £8 handling charge if it comes via Royal Mail (charge may vary for UPS, FedEx etc).
Lucky that Cagney and Lacey is one of the best tv programmes ever, or I wouldn't be paying out that kind of cash to our beloved government!

Am another one in the UK, so fingers crossed (and thanks for the bits of info MK), and may just cancel Christmas in favour of Cagney and Lacey DVD (if manage to get one) ;-) It is kind of crazy that someone isn't picking it up for wider distrubution in Europe, lots of fans this side of the pond too. I would echo what MK said though, UK fans will need to factor in not only the postage but also the customs charges. Otherwise you could get a nasty surprise when your box arrives !

I was lucky enough to be out in Hollywood in March 1995 for Sharon and Tyne's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony and the gathering after at the hotel. It was a terrific day I will add to the box set the pins that were replicas of Tyne and Sharon's "Walk of Fame" stars.
I wish we could get a possible day for when we will be able to place the order for the Limited set. I think I visit both sites about a million times a day haha Just don't want to miss the set and would be nice to be told for instance order will start say Friday at noon something like that so we can be ready :-)

As has already been mentioned, stay calm. We've waited for a commercial release for years now, so another few days - or weeks even - won't do any harm.
We know the sets are on the way, so relax, breath deeply, and check back once a day until the announcement pops up.
Good morning. I am stoked that this is finally coming out. I would buy it immediately, except I do not see this available for purchase in the US. I see where I can pre-order from Amazon.com Canada, but not the USA. I don't know if the dvds are the same on the Canada Amazon site for use in the US or not.

You can Per-order it from Amazon in Canada. Can't wait to get my hands on this great tv series.
What you see on amazon is the complete series not the complete collection which has the autograph etc. please visit tvshowsondvd.com for the differences. Don't order the lesser of the two, unless that's what you want

Just as a small heads-up for those getting a little stressed about the non-appearance of the Limited Edition box set.
DVD companies the world over are well known for their ever-shifting release dates and delays owing to all manner of reasons.
I seem to recall these sets were originally slated for release in the Autumn (fall), and it's looking increasingly likely this will now be the case here.
Hopefully, we won't have to wait too much longer before the buying links appear.
Both the wife and me are rather looking forward to revisiting the complete series again after such a long absence from our screens.
Full respect to both Barney and those who have persistently pushed to get the complete series out commercially. Bravo!

I recorded tons of the shows when they were shown on Lifetime Network but I think they were edited because you would see action in the introduction that was not on the show. I can't wait to get this set.
