Anyway… someone told me good things come to those who wait. Okay. It appears
y’all have waited long enough and something good is coming your way. This year…
probably no later than this fall… a limited edition of the entire Cagney & Lacey series will be made
available first to readers of this website and their friends via the Internet.
The package will include the original two hour film starring Loretta Swit as
Cagney, the six so-called “lost episodes” with Meg Foster as Cagney and then
all 119 episodes of the true series starring Sharon Gless as Cagney. Tyne Daly
has always been the one and only Lacey and she is there in all 127 hours of DVD
entertainment which will be complemented by some add-on interviews and possibly
the British Film Institute event honoring the 30th anniversary of
the series. Each of these box sets to be autographed by Sharon, Tyne… and me.

Like someone else said, "Now I can get rid of my VHS tapes ( S06-07 from CBS; and the former Eps. from a very edited Lifetime)... A literal 'dream come true'... Barney can upi comment on if the original closing logos will be intact or will they be subbed for current studio ownership? I really love original opening and closing logos on TV shows and films. Really adds to the nostalgia. I will for sure want to own a copy of the fill series Box Set once pre-orders are listed.

ReplyDeleteOMG!!! I CAN'T WAIT!! I grew up watching this show with my mother. Since her passing ten months ago I came across Cagney and Lacey on itunes. These two amazingly talented women have brought back so many memories that I cherish dearly!! They have also kept me company on many, many sleepless nights. I tell people if not for the love of God and Cagney and Lacey I may not have made it these past few months. LOL! Thank you so much Barney for not forgetting the fans of this great show and for all your hard work to make this possible.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited! I found Cagney & Lacey playing on Lifeime in the mid 90's. I'm was only a teenager at the time. I'm now 28 and this is great news!! I love Sharon & Tyne, I purchased the 1st season back in 2007 and I know the episodes by heart!! This will be a great presnt to myself!

I think you should know that I'm 76 years old and never missed any of their shows. In those days there were not too many feminists out there and I was in a distinct minority. I can't wait for this release!
